Will be going to Pheonex for the masjid program there, inshaAllah on friday and then camping and hiking the Grand Canyon (18 or so miles - don’t ask how I will survive). Hence, I will not be updating ’till I reurn (Monday, inshaAllah).
Good luck on the hike. The Grand Canyon is no place for wimps, and don’t forget that for every step down, you have to climb back up. Also, be sure to pack LOTS of water! I have no idea as to what your physical condition is like, but in Phoenix (when I lived there), our rule of thumb was that if you could climb a certain mountain in Phoenix three times up and down without stopping, you were ready for the Canyon. Otherwise, best to enjoy the view from the top.
akhee, that trip was so dope. it was almost worth fighting off mountain lions, getting attacked by a pack of rams, suffering from frost bite, eradicating a knee cap, and begging for food. what larks. :p
