Quran 5:56
وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ فَإِنَّ حِزْبَ اللّهِ هُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ {56}
[Shakir 5:56] And whoever takes Allah and His messenger and those who believe for a guardian, then surely the party of Allah are they that shall be triumphant.

Alhamdullilah this verse is so comforting. When all the media and much of the world is against us all we have to do is open up the Quran to see Allah’s promise of victory to Hezbollah

The verse does not mean victory by force of arms. It means giving over all your affairs to Allah, and having faith in nothing but Him. If you carry a gun, you trust the gun, not Allah.

hmmm… so Irving, how do you suggest the Southern Lebanese fight the Israelis? By simply making dua? As the verse goes, God does not change a condition of a people unless they first attempt to change it themselves.

Irving, defending one’s self does not at all mean that one has lost faith in Allah.
Infact, defending one’s life and property against aggression is part of having faith in Allah - because, as Muslims, we don’t just throw away our lives, and let the enemy kill us without putting up a defense.
I have not the slightest doubt that those who advocate “non-violence” would put up a serious good defensive fight, if their children were attacked - in their homes, or on the street - or, as in this case, by an aggressor “state” .
