Respect and Compassion (defense of Shaykh Nazim)
Due to popular demand I am pasting the link to an entry I wrote concerning respect and compassion while defending the Sufi master of the Naqshibani Order, Shaykh Nazim Haqqani. If one has comments please comment on this entry and not the old one.

An excellent post on respect and compassion. Shaykh Nazim Haqqani, as well as many other Sufi Masters, are always under attack, but such slurs are nothing that can hurt him. Allah alone is the judge of His creation. Yet your words speak of love, and that is the only language the haters are afraid of. Alhamdulillah!
Ya Haqq!

Irving,
Most righteous ulema and awliyah are always under attack from our other Muslims brothers and sisters, especially the pseudo-salafis (no offense), who love to attack, bash, and insult others. May Allah Guide Us All.

The problem I see with Shaikh Haqqani is the same problem we see with some of our Shi’a Ulema in Dearborn. Which is the same problem we see in some of our (Shi’a) organizations. Every human being has the desire to be on top. They all want their beliefs to over shadow others, they want their sect to overpower others … of course they do all this because they feel what they believe is the Truth or Haq.
Unfortunately, patience has escaped many of our leaders. They want to take the quickest route to empowerment or to become the standard bearer of Islam — even if that means that you have to temporarily subside your morals. But if we venture into history we will notice all the leaders who took this route ended up failing their communities.
It’s quite foolish to actually believe that someone outside your belief system really wants to help you. But too often people are blinded by the golden gem studded tassles that dangle infront of them. Dreams … dreams that fade away when reality hits them smack on their face. But by then damage is done, and damage control becomes the next task. It’s really too late…
Wa Salaam,
Ali

salaam,
Abbas, surely that was a really nice entry. However i would like to correct a very huge mistake you guys made by saying that “Kabbani and Haqqani are two different people” (i’m sure it was done unintentionally) Also i would like to make it clear that, anyone who insults the lover, surely insults the loved one. In other words, anyone who insults Sheikh Hisham Kabbani(lover of Shekh Nazim and whom is loved by him), surely has insulted Sheikh Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani(loved one). The deputy of Sheikh Nazim, who is Sheikh Hisham Kabbani has approximatly 5 million followers all around the world. This is not because of his desire to be the “top one” , for he has been trained in the hands of Sheikh Nazim Haqqani and his Grandsheikh Sheikh Daghestani since he was 12 years old. Sheikh Nazim has authorized Mawlana Sheikh Hisham to speak on his behalf and spread the Naqshbandi Haqqani sufi way. After so many years of being taught next to Sheikh Nazim Haqqani, Sheikh Hisham’s deep love for Sheikh Nazim has made him to vanish in his light. So in other words, Sheikh Hisham IS Sheikh Nazim Haqqani. When he speakes, he speaks from Sheikh Nazim. So If you see him in person, you will see Sheikh Nazim infront of you. If you speak with him, you will see how humble he is and hear him always saying “i’m nothing without my sheikh!” And also for the record, Sheikh hisham is also from our prophet’s (saw) family. I have personally met him and have been to his house and have seen his normal daily life and how gracious he and his family is. Everyday he’s in constant worship and doing somthing for Allah’s sake. People like him do not have to prove anything about the “soul of Islam” (sufism), because somehow Allah proves it by Himself by bringing people to his door.Even many highly respectable people are followers of Sheikh Hisham/Sheikh Nazim. Did they use force like the wahhabis to be their guide? no! the support of Allah and the beloved Prophet is enough. The light of the prophet overcomes everything in this world. So lets be careful in saying anything about anyone whom Allah has given such high rank. Alhamdulillah, they are not failing but rising!
sorry for the long comment
