Will the US Attack?

“Iran has created a powerful army that can powerfully defend the political borders and the integrity of the Iranian nation and cut off the hand of any aggressor and place the sign of disgrace on their forehead,” he told military officers at a parade to commemorate Army Day.” -President Ahmedinijad

The idea that the US is going to attack Iran is absurd, the Seymour Hersh article has seem to have gotten everyone riled up, but an attack on Iran is unfeasible. The US would have to much to loose. Iran has strong relations with Russia, China (both of who are on the UN security counsel) and recent treaty shined with India for a pipeline, will present a big challenge if the US were to attach. Further more Iran has immense influence in Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan and in smaller pockets all over the middle east. Recently after the US removed its funding form the new Palestine government, Iran stragetically vowed 50 million dollars to the newly elected officials, and will hence increase its influence in the region. An attack will greatly affect the global economy, and will have little or no support at home. It will be even harder to get the Europeans on board. Will the US attack? I highly doubt it, unless they are willing to jump into another quagmire.
